Chief Operations Officer

About us
Founded in 2015 in Nantes, D-ICE Engineering is a deep-tech company dedicated to transforming the maritime sector. Our mission is to address three major challenges: reducing carbon emissions, improving maritime safety, and enabling the production of clean ocean-based energy.
Our multidisciplinary team of 40+ engineers and PhDs brings together expertise in hydrodynamics, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics, robotics, control systems, and scientific software engineering.
In 2024, we raised €6 million to accelerate the industrialization and commercialization of our technologies—impactful solutions ranging from embedded systems to cloud platforms—designed to shape a more sustainable and decarbonized maritime future.
About the position
As Chief Operating Officer and a core member of the Executive Committee, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the company and turning strategic priorities into execution excellence. You will directly oversee the production teams (both hardware and software), and ensure smooth coordination across all departments involved in project delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the production teams, covering cloud deployments and hardware assembly
- Structure and lead the company’s operational rhythm (planning, dashboards, reviews, decision-making)
- Coordinate day-to-day execution across project, product, support, engineering, and admin teams
- Lead company-wide planning cycles and align resource allocation with strategic priorities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Build and scale a high-performing after-sales support (SAV) organization, both internally and through global partners
Required Skills

- Strong, pragmatic operational leadership
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive execution
- Results-driven mindset, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Comfort working in a hybrid software/hardware environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
Experience
- Minimum 10 years in operations, production, or complex project management
- At least 3 years in a multi-team leadership or executive role
- Experience in the maritime or industrial tech sectors is a major plus
Languages
- Full fluency in French and English is mandatory (written and spoken)
